Swing With The Sunnyside of Life with Jack Horner

 It's Swing! It's Zing! It's Everything!

The late big band leader, and arranger, Billy May, called it "popular music with a swing beat." He was talking about swingpop and that’s what The Sunnyside of Life is all about.  You'll get two hours of toe tapping music and a smile as you hear something that just grabs you or reminds you of times past. It's old and it's new! The music ranges from the 1940’s to the present day. Hear the great big bands, famous singers, vocal groups ,and star instrumentalists. Often, there’ll be new performers to get to know and the occasional new album review.

We won't bore you ços "styles range from straight swing to blues to Texas swing and boogie woogie, with a dreamy ballad tossed in here and there, often featuring big bands and small jump blues groups. Mix it up from Frank Sinatra to Count Basie, or Manhattan Transfer to the Mills Brothers! News of local music events will be passed on and occasionally we’ll talk with performers. Your host, Jack Horner, once learned some clarinet and has been listening to great swing- and jazz- since his teen years. He has nearly 11 years sharing this on community radio and is having so much fun he wishes he had started broadcasting earlier! Contact Jack during each show at and be part of the fun! Or send him a request or two at any time!
